Breakfast
We've heard much of a restaurant, called Carmelita's, in Zihua serving exceptionally good breakfasts. This morning we decided to try it out. While waiting for the bus I took the photo below of a tree with leaves of two colors. Maybe one day this tree will make up its mind what color it wants its leaves to be.
Using the Google Maps app we got off at what we thought was the correct stop to walk a short distance to the restaurant. Now the app was sending us a mile elsewhere. While trying to see what was wrong I kept getting messages, "Please rate this app," "Allow this app to send you notifications," "an upgrade to this app is now available," etc. The app had been effectively hi-jacked by message gremlins so we took a taxi the rest of the way. It was about a half mile trip and the ride cost about $1.80 Canadian. I believe most Montreal taxi drivers will not even shake your hand for $1.80.
The restaurant lived up to expectations and breakfast was indeed a high quality experience. The food is excellent, the service attentive, waitresses speak English very well, the prices are quite reasonable, and the ambience is pleasant.
The above photo shows Carol enjoying her prelininary juice with a cappuccino waiting. I didn't know what juice to order so I took the waitress' recommendation. My juice was (ahem) green, a mixture of fruit and vegetable juices tasting a little weird but not unpleasant.
Afterwards we set off to explore the part of the town we were in. The sun was out in all its humid power but there was much shade to be found so I thought all would be well. Besides, I had my hat with me this time, right? Nope. I'm a slow learner. I thought I'd be in much less sun than when in the ministry but it doesn't take much exposure to fry the pate here. So my idea of trying to get away without a hat was ill-advised to say the least.
We wandered through a market area until we arrived in a part of town we knew. Here's one scene of the market neighborhood ...
This evening I took videos of the surf on the beach hoping to record a good sized wave to process into slow motion. Just for the fun of it. The results are below if you care to watch a slo-mo video of a wave crashing on the shore.

Ed's now posting videos of waves in slow motion?
Wow, he'd better start wearing his hat!
