Life Stories
Last night we watched the February Broadcast on jw.org and over breakfast this morning Carol and I discussed "defining moments" as described in Brother Jackson's short talk. As he mentioned, many life stories published in the Watchtower begin with a dramatic, decisive moment in the person's life. The question we discussed was, if our own life stories were to be published, what would we choose as outstanding "defining moments?" We each came up with episodes that would make good story-starters, but since our life stories won't be published, you'll never know what they are. :-)
Carol also told me she thought she felt earth tremors today. I have an app that reports on earthquakes and learned that this afternoon there was a 4.2 tremor about 30 kilometers northeast of here. It also reported that there were far more tremors of this sort in the USA today than in Mexico.
At the pool today we met an older couple from Lac St-Jean. When they discovered we spoke French they were happy to have people they could easily converse with and we learned about *their* recent life story. About 4 years ago the husband suffered a bad fall that caused brain damage. Twice in the ambulance they had to jump-start his heart. He flat-lined twice on the operating table. He survived but required major brain surgery. Then he had to re-learn so much, how to walk, how to do so many basic things like buttoning a shirt. You never know the harrowing story some stranger sitting beside you may have to tell.
This evening we went down to the beach to take in the sunset. Having this on hand every day is a major asset. Images below ...

You should try photo-capturing the so-called sunset wink or green flash. Bill :-)
